Understanding Your Business
Getting to Know You...
Your business is unique. It may appear similar to others in the same sector, but its people, location, product base, customers and strategic intentions require carefully crafted support systems by people who really understand the business.
What makes our consultants particularly able to do this?
First, all project leaders have years of experience working closely with management teams, and tend to specialize in specific sectors. On agreeing an assignment, they will ‘taste the business’ with other members of the project team, talking to various levels of management and seeing how the business works in practice.
Second, we use diagnostic tools which model the business and identify critical information pathways and key tasks which are crucial to business performance. We share our understanding gained through use of these tools with senior management, both for their benefit and to check our findings.
Third, we are particularly tuned to the culture of the business, and the way it interacts with the people who are its most valuable resource. New systems are a challenge to staff, who have to ‘put up’ with the implementation phase, and learn how to get the most out of the new software. We are committed to helping them cope. We design our implementation processes to minimize disruption, coach and train staff in the use of new software.
Fourth, we ‘stick around’. We’re there to help as post implementation problems inevitably arise, acting as though we are an in-house resource. Our learning continues throughout this final phase, deepening our commitment to and understanding of a client with whom we have built a long-term relationship.
